Kanchanjangha Tea Estate: A Unique Himalayan Green Tea Experience
With its mellow, smooth flavor and a harmonious balance of sweet fruity and vegetal notes, this tea is both approachable and delightful. Unlike many green teas, it can tolerate slightly higher brewing temperatures, thanks to a careful production process that includes just a touch of oxidation. Our tea garden is nestled in the pristine foothills of Mt. Kanchenjunga, the third-highest mountain in the world, in eastern Nepal. Positioned near the western borders of Darjeeling, India, and just north of Illam—Nepal’s most famous tea-growing region—our small village enjoys the best of both worlds. Situated at an altitude of 1300–1800 meters (4,200–6,000 feet), the area benefits from the exceptional Himalayan climate, perfect for cultivating highly aromatic and unique teas.
 
Kanchanjangha Tea Estate holds the distinction of being the first certified organic tea garden in Nepal. Established in 1984 by Mr. Deepak Prakash Baskota, the estate was born out of a mission to alleviate poverty in his community. Today, it remains a pioneering social enterprise, built on cooperative infrastructure and dedicated to putting people and the planet before profit.
