The Girl Behind the Teapot

Hello, my name is Emma from Orlando Florida. I’m a tea enthusiast and perpetual student of all things infused! My love for tea is a daily ritual that began when I was a child in Cuba. I remember my mother preparing all sorts of herbal infusions to cure the common cold or simply to aid digestion and watching her make these concoctions woke my curiosity for infusions. As time passed I continued exploring with herbs, blends, and different kinds of ingredients that would pair well with Camelia Sinensis (tea plant). Nowadays, I enjoy blogging about my experiments and recipe creations using tea and tisanes. I enjoy working with tea brands, such Elevation Tea Co., to create recipes and pairing suggestions inspired by their teas. I also co-host a monthly LIVE broadcast on Instagram called Two Teas in a Pot (#twoteasinapot) where we talk about everything related to tea, from the most basic to the beautifully complex, and we’re always happy to answer your tea related questions.

Birthday Cake Puerh

Birthday Cake Puerh + Sugar Cookies

I made this tea two different ways, one of which as a hot latte because the milk enhances the creaminess for a cake frosting flavour. The second way, as western style hot tea without sweeteners but paired with sugar cookies. Both ways are delicious but I should mention I used almond milk for the latte version

Coconut Cream

Coconut Cream + Mango

The Cuban in me decided to make tea this time and here we are! Another recipe creation with and their blend- Coconut Cream. I regret nothing and I enjoyed it to the last drop and bite! All I would say here is make sure you have ripe Ataúlfo mangos for pairing. It makes a difference! This was a delicious brew. All natural ingredients and natural tastes. I would do it hot or cold and no need for sweetener here!

Venice Sunset

Venice Sunset + Fresh Kiwi and Dragon Fruit (Pitaya)

I loved this creation. 🍵 It’s refreshing and sweet without added sweetness and the citrus aromas come through nicely without being overbearing. Once I finished drinking the tea I ate the fresh fruit which had absorbed a lot of the tea flavor, making it delightfully yummy! Overall it’s a fun summer tea recipe. I hope you try it at home!
